We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of Republic of Poland has granted funding to PISM and PUMST under the WABIM Programme – Supporting Archives, Libraries, and Museums…
This year's project includes archiving and digitising the collections of the Polish Institute and the Trust, along with organisational transformation, implementation of new IT infrastructure, and a database system based on CLOUD technology, OCR, and AI.
The aim of these activities is to protect and provide broader and easier access to the archival collections of PISM and PUMST. Additionally, it involves transforming the institutions themselves to ensure their stability and development, and ultimately, the effective protection of collections—part of Polish cultural heritage outside Poland.

Planned activities:
➡︎ Modernisation of IT infrastructure as the foundation for implementing this project and the operation of both institutions in general
➡︎ Audit and archiving of additional selected archival collections
➡︎ Multi-stage digitisation including OCR and AI recognition
➡︎ Expansion and modernisation of databases: Excel inventories and their export to the ZOSiA database, as well as PDF/OCR/AI indexing
➡︎ Initiation of work on a web-based AI application (concept)
➡︎ Implementation of a new development strategy and procedures for archiving, digitisation, and administrative processes.
