Description
One of the first post war publication about the Polish Underground Army (Polish Home Army - Armia Krajowa) to appear outside Poland.
Written and first published as early as 1950 by Tadeusz Bór-Komorowski – Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Armed Forces in the West. It was translated into English under the title The Secret Army. In his foreword to the first edition the author writes:
"I have not written a history book. Too little time has passed since the events described. For that matter I don’t believe that any of us could be dispassionate enough, which should be the mark of an historian. I participated in these events… They completely consumed me… They are still in my nerves and my heart."
