Co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Warsaw (MKiDN), specifically with the Department of National Heritage, began some years ago.

Among the Ministry’s responsibilities is helping Polish cultural institutions abroad. This includes PUMST which houses a priceless collection of unique archival material, connected principally with the Polish Underground State and the Home Army from the Second World War and the post-war years.

The Ministry acts as the sponsor and co-ordinator of joint projects undertaken by PUMST, with associated partner institutions in Poland. It provides additional funding for ventures aimed at preserving the Polish cultural heritage abroad.
